Glenn Burdette Chapel's Obituary
Glenn Burdette Chapel of The Villages Florida passed away September 5th, 2018 after a brief stay at Ocala Regional Medical Center. Born May 19th, 1932 in Warren, PA where he and his wife Beverly of 66 years resided until moving to The Villages in 2007. Glenn was a crane operator at National Forge Steel for the 36 years and retired in 1991.
Glenn was a Korean War veteran and was pleased to have been chosen for the first Korean War Honor flight from the Villages. He was an avid golfer and was very proud of his “Hole in One” Certificate. His great joy in life was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Budd Chapel whom he married on June 28th, 1952, his daughters Kathy Chapel (Burdette), Kim Watson (Dan) and Karen Callahan (Fred), grandchildren Krissy Peterson, Glenn Chapel and Cal Callahan and great grandchildren Lylah Peterson and Dexter Chapel, and a sister Florence Stewart and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvy and Goldie Chapel, his sisters Phoebe Bachkor, Marge Lindsey, Genieve Lester, Evelyn Lindell, Geraldine VanOrd, and Betty Mickle. His brothers Leroy “Jim”, Richard, Robert, and Charles and a granddaughter Angela Caren Chapel.
Glenn’s wishes were for Immediate family members to hold a private service for the celebration of his life at Banks Page Theus Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or Autism Speaks.
