Gilbert Norman Pedersen, Jr.'s Obituary
Gilbert Norman Pedersen, Jr, 69, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012. Mr. Pedersen was born January 28, 1943 in South Ozone Park, NY and moved to The Villages in 2012 from Norwich, NY. He retired as owner/operator of the Pedersen Plumbing and Heating company. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the ELKS lodge and was of Episcopalian faith. He enjoyed camping, boating and was an avid Nascar fan for a number of years. His main hobby was ‘playing’ in his ‘toy room’ using his milling machine, lathe, wood working and metal machining tools and equipment to create, build and fabricate everything from tools to building his own Golf Cart so he could enjoy driving it around during his short time in The Villages. Gil was a remarkable man that did whatever he could to teach, support and bring happiness to all of those who knew him. Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Michele; his mother Helen Pedersen; sisters, Arlene Scionti, Diane (Dennis) Schlafer; sons, Daniel (Elizabeth), Darren (Patricia); daughter, Denise (Robert II) Pedersen-Matz; 6 grandchildren, Robert III, James, Desire’, Bryan, Ryan and Alexa and his brother-in law Donald (Judy) and several nieces, nephews, Aunts and Uncles. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Villages hospice. On-line condolences and memories may be shared by clicking on the sign in guestbook link below.
