Geraldine L Whitfield's Obituary
Geraldine L. Whitfield, 86, of The Villages, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013. Mrs. Whitfield was born September 14, 1926 to Albert F. and Eva Estella McClure in Rochester, Pa. She is survived by her husband, David A. Whitfield; daughter, Pamela A. Whitfield of The Villages and a sister, Betty Hessley of Pasadena, Tx. The Whitfield’s would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on September 4th. She loved “Ballroom Dancing” and “Cruising” and was videotaped doing “The Last Waltz” on their cruise with the “2nd Honeymooners” this past March. She also loved baking “Specialties” goodies for neighbors and anyone working around her home. She enjoyed plants and her “green thumb” allowed her the ability to grow plants from cuttings. She had taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years in the Willoughby Methodist Church in Ohio before moving to Hilton Head Island, SC, where she lived for 28 years prior to moving to The Villages in May of 2010. She will be eventually inurned with her husband in the Beaufort, S.C. National Cemetery after his death. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the H.
