G. Eleanor Hooker's Obituary
Eleanor Hooker, 88, passed away on January 28, 2010, after a brief bout with cancer. She was married to Frederick Hooker, who passed away in 2001. She moved with her husband to Wildwood in 1983. She is survived by her daughter Christine Hooker, of West Palm Beach, Florida, her daughter Stephanie McConaughy and husband Stewart, of Shelburne, Vermont, her grandson, David McConaughy, his wife, Jill, and two great grandchildren, Owen and Skye, of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. After completing high school, she was awarded a two-year scholarship to study art. She was an avid nature lover and member of the Ocklawaha Chapter of the Audubon Society. She could identify all the birds of the southern USA and meticulously reproduced them in oil and acrylic on canvas and natural materials. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood. A private memorial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in West Palm Beach, Florida. Her family is grateful for the warm and respectful care she received at Lane Purcell Hospice House in Sumterville, Florida. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Lane Purcell Hospice House.
