Franklin Delano Collins' Obituary
Franklin Delano Collins, of Wildwood, died Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Lady Lake, Florida after a brief illness; he was 76. Frank was born September 18, 1933 in Leesburg and was a resident of Florida his entire life. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Patricia Ann (Johnson) Collins, three children Delana (Charles) Douthit of Cincinnati Ohio, Joseph (Patty) Collins of Dothan, Alabama and Frances Baker of Wildwood. His grandchildren are Dana and Justin Douthit, Katie, Caleb, Conner and Colby Collins, Josh, Seth, Micah and Faith Baker. He was predeceased by his parents Wallace Holt and Ruthie C. (Hart) Collins, his granddaughter Abigail Baker, and eight siblings. Frank graduated from Leesburg High School and started his career with the Seaboard Airline Railroad as a Hostler Helper in 1951. He retired from CSX Transportation in 1999 as a Locomotive Engineer. Frank served as a deacon in various Assembly of God Churches throughout his life. He is a Born Again Christian and was a member of the Sunset Park Church of God in Wildwood. Frank was a faithful spouse and father, who diligently provided for his family; he was a very giving man and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 6 8 pm Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home in Wildwood. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Park Church of God.
