Frank Edgar "Ed" Frey Sr's Obituary
Frank E. “Ed” Frey, Sr., 96, Yalaha, FL, passed away on July 23, 2014 at his residence under the loving care of family and staff of Cornerstone Hospice. Mr. Frey was born on October 3, 1917 in Flint, Michigan to his parents Otto C. Frey and Emma (Zink) Frey. Mr. Frey was a former Employment Manager for the Chevrolet Motors Division. He and his wife moved to Yalaha in 1974 from Flint, MI. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce in Michigan, Boy Scout Committee, Methodist Church and Youth Advisor to troubled children. His hobbies included woodworking, carving, gardening, swimming, fishing, hunting and had swam over 5000 miles over the years. He is survived by his loving sons: Frank (Mary) Frey of Maitland, FL and Henry (Susan) Frey of Windsor, CO; six grandchildren: Joel, Jared, Julia, Hillary, Andy and Michael; a great-granddaughter: Haley. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann and brothers Emerson and Charlie. A Celebration of Ed’d life will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Ed’s memory to Leesburg Public Library. On-line condolences may be shared by visiting www.bankspagetheus.com.
