Francis J.C. Gay Jr.'s Obituary
Francis J.C. Gay, Jr. 84, Wildwood, Florida passed away on September 27, 2014 in Leesburg, Florida. Mr. Gay was born on July 18, 1930 in Chicopee, Massachusetts to his parents Francis Gay, Sr. and Viola (Dougal) Gay. Mr. Gay was a former Police Officer for the Town of Granby, Massachusetts where he held the rank of Sergeant. He and his wife moved to Wildwood 18 years ago from Ballston Spa, New York. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the U.S. Navy as a commissioned officer and was of the Christian faith. He was a graduated with his Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from A.I.L. in Springfield, Mass. He was a former member of the Lions Club of Wildwood. He collected rare coins and liked to do cross word puzzles and go on cruises but he really loved to be a Driver and Trainer for Standard Breds “Trotters”. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years: Naida Gay of Wildwood, FL; two sons: Danial A. (Suzanne) Gay of Leesburg, FL and Darryl M. VanCampen of Silver Springs, FL; two daughters: Diana L. Jeffers of Ocala, FL and Donna L. Gay of Ocala, FL; seventeen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son’s Francis J.C. Gay, III and Michael Neil Gay. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00AM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel with a Gathering prior to the service from 9:00AM till the hour of service. Burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors. Services have been entrusted to Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, FL.
