Francis Maurice Chadwick's Obituary
Francis Maurice Chadwick, 91, The Villages, Florida passed away suddenly on February 21, 2026 at UF Spanish Plaines Hospital, The Villages, Florida with his loving wife by his side. Frank was born on January 11, 1935 in Gerard, Alabama to his parents Edward William Chadwick and Sophie Lee (Jones) Chadwick.
Frank and his loving wife Barbara moved to The Villages 17 years ago from Bay Shore, Long Island, New York. He was of the Catholic Faith and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, Florida. Frank was a former member of the Hibernians Society while he lived in New York. In the 1950’s he played ball for the Detroit Tigers Farm Team as a catcher. He owned his own trucking business and was a great mechanic. He was a good cook for his family and friends. Frank was an avid bowler and loved to play pool. He was proud United States Air Force Veteran where he learned how to repair diesel generators. He was a “Jack of all trades” and was able to fix what was broken.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Barbara Chadwick of The Villages, FL; three sons: John Chadwick and his wife Elaine of West Babylon, LI, NY, James Chadwick and his wife Tina of Melbourne, FL and Glenn Chadwick and his wife Courtney of Galena, OH; two daughters: Carollee Becker of Masaryktown, FL and Lisa Chadwick of The Villages, FL; three loving grandchildren: Eyan Becker, Sophie Chadwick and Hadley Chadwick; a nephew: Michael Crawford.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 9:00AM till 10:30AM at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel with Funeral Services to follow at 10:30AM at the Funeral Home with Deacon Dana McCarthy officiating. Burial to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church to Our Mothers Attic in Frank’s loving memory.
