Francis J Canavan's Obituary
Francis J. Canavan, 85, Sebring, FL passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015 in Sebring, Florida surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Canavan was born on August 29, 1929 in Vicksburg, Michigan to his parents Lester and Esther Canavan. Mr. Canavan was the former owner of States Golf Club in Vicksburg, Michigan. He and his wife moved to the Florida Key’s in 1982 from Vicksburg, Michigan and then moved to Sebring in 2003. He and his wife attended Bethany Baptist Church in Avon Park, Florida. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and loved to fly in his Cessna aircraft. He is survived by his loving children: Pam (Gene) Josey of Sebring, FL and Daniel (Susan) Canavan of Tuscon, AZ; a sister: Ruth (Otto) Batts of Vicksburg, MI; six grandchildren: Randy Josey, Jody Townsend, James Hollenbeck, Melissa Oertel, Bryan Canavan and Christie Martinez; seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years Ramona Canavan on April 3, 2015. Family and friends will celebrate Mr. Canavan’s life Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 110:30AM at Schoolcraft Township Cemetery, W Hwy St, Vicksburg, MI. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Juvenile Arthritis Association at 8549 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 103 Beverly Hills, CA 90211.
