Floyd N Dierdorff's Obituary
Floyd N. Dierdorff, 8l, of Sebring, FL, formally of Knoxville, IL, passed away on
Monday, March 25, 2013 at Sunny Hills of Sebring.
He was born October 30, 1931 in Pike County, IN to Elsie Dorothy and Harvey Wesley
Dierdorff. He married Anna Mae Schwarz on July 29, 2004 in Sebring, FL.
Surviving is his wife of Sebring, FL; one daughter, Vicki (Gregg) Worrell of Mapleton,
II and one son, Rick (Marsha) Dierdorff of Somonauk, II; one step-daughter Pam (Steve)
King of Kewanee, IL. Four step-sons, Jim, John (Wendy), Jeff (Sandra) Schwarz of
Chilton, Wi, and Joe (Anna Marie) Schwarz of Rota, Spain. One brother, Leon (Charlena)
Dierdorff of Sebring, FL; two sister-in-laws Eunice Dierdorff of Sebring, FL and Dorothy Dierdorff of Chilicothe, IL.; five grandchildren, Christy (Christopher) Lee,
Heather (Travis) Laffey, Chad (Karla) Dierdorff, Joshua Dierdorff, Brooke (Christopher)
Millbrook; 8 step-grandchildren, Conner King, Olivia King, Jessica, Rebecca, Christine,
Elizabeth, Matthew, Andrew, Trevor, and Connor Schwarz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Melvin Dierdorff and Donald
Dierdorff:; previous wife, JoAnn Halsall-Dierdorff; and one step-son, Jay Halsall.
Floyd was a barber in Fairview, IL for a number of years and retired from Asarco Coal
Company in 1987. After retirement he moved to Sebring, FL where he served on the
Francis 2 Mobile Park Board of Directors for many years. He loved spending time with
his family and friends. Floyd also enjoyed working in his yard and doing remodeling
jobs. In his earlier years he enjoyed boating and had a talent for making beautiful
woodworking projects. The Dierdorff brothers were known for their basketball talent
when they played on the Fairview Independent league. At one time they even played
against the Harlem Globetrotters. Floyd had a heart for helping others and was always
available to help residents in the retirement park with lawn mowing and other needs. He
will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at
Francis II Club House on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from noon till 2pm.Please join us and
