Eugene Adam Calabrese Jr's Obituary
Dr. Eugene Adam Calabrese Jr, 56, passed away on January 15, 2015, after battling a terminal illness. He was a most beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, cousin, nephew and physician.
He was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, and practiced as an osteopathic internist in a most dedicated manner.
He became medical director of King's Daughters Nursing Home in Midland, Michigan, worked tirelessly at Healthsource Saginaw and provided devoted care to his patients at Saginaw hospitals as well as having a private practice, Colony Medical Group.
He recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of moving himself and his family to Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Dr. Collette Mercier, son, Anthony, and daughter, Julia; a sister, Theresa (Calabrese) Knaub; brothers-in-law Thomas Knaub, David Mercier, Michael Mercier, Michael Priest and George McCoy; sisters-in-law Denise (Mercier) Priest and Lisa (Mercier) McCoy, Janet (Lewis) Mercier; father-in-law Joseph Mercier and his wife, Martha; and an aunt, Mary (Dwan) Richter; as well as a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Eugene Calabrese Sr.; his mother-in-law, Wilhelmina Mercier; uncle Clement J. (Bud) Richter; and aunt, Kathleen Greene Smalley.
His favorite pastimes included boating and spending family time at the cottage on Linwood Beach. He was an avid supporter of Catholic schools and a number of other charities as well. He had a special fondness for animals, especially his dogs and cats.

A Mass of the Resurrection is set for 8:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 1351 Paige Place in Lady Lake. A breakfast gathering will follow in the church social hall.
