Erma Floyd Jefffers' Obituary
JEFFERS, Erma Floyd, 90, of Richmond, Va., passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Christy “Jeff” Albert Jeffers Sr.; parents, James Gordon Floyd and Ruby Hurst Floyd; and three brothers, Earl Floyd, Arnold Floyd and Howard Floyd. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Jeffers Baylor (Frank); a son, Christy Albert Jeffers Jr. (Penny); seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Floyd (Barbara); sister-in-law, Genny Floyd; and a special cousin, Matthew Floyd. Erma married Christy “Jeff” Albert Jeffers Sr. in the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Fla., and during her husband’s career with Seaboard Airlines, Seaboard Coast Lines and CSX, she lived in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. In Savannah, she was active in the Girl Scouts Council, Daffin Heights Garden Club, Women’s Division of United Way, and Telfair Academy of Arts and Science. Erma retired from the March of Dimes after many years of devoted service. Erma will take her final train ride home to Florida, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on April 13, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Fla., followed with interment in Pine Level Cemetery.
