Elwyn "Papa Buck" Babbitt 82 died peacefully in his home on Tuesday evening surrounded by friends and family. Mr. Babbitt owned Babbitt's bindery in Orlando for 38 years. He and his wife of 62 years moved to Oxford from Orlando in Read Obituary
I remember Uncle Elwyn, the bindery, and his family. All of the great grands played together when we'd get together at great-grandman and grandpa's big old house for Thanksgiving, and the fresh pecans and climbing the two big pecan trees out front of their house. I was very saddened to hear of "Uncle Buck's" passing. I thought back to the time that as a young boy, he nicknamed me "spread eagle" on a trip to North Carolina after watching me tumble down the side of a hill. He called me that as recently as a few weeks ago when we spoke on the phone and it still brought a smile to my face. I can still picture sitting out on the couch at the bindery over lunch and talking about the races, deer hunting etc... I'm going to miss him very much.##imported-begin##Paul Bland##imported-end##
