So sad to hear of Eleanor's passing. She was "my Mom" figure growing up in my early years- always loving--the best of my childhood--I'm sure all who knew her are truly blessed--Rest in peace Paul Mistark Massachusetts

I met Eleanor when she and Bill were serving at the Salvation Army in Bushnell, Florida. I joined the Ladies Home League for something to keep my mind occupied as I went through a very painful divorce. Eleanor listened to me a great deal sometimes as I'd pour out my heart to her. I had no close family left to talk to but she was there with the psychology training, that I only learned later that she had, her solid common sense and her superior intellect. Eleanor was always rational, grounded, and as honest as could be. I knew that when she told me something, I could depend on the fact that she was telling me her honest opinion. Eleanor was kind but she did not disingenuously flatter someone or withhold her input if she felt something was a bad idea. I had great respect for Eleanor. She was a woman with great strength of character who seemed to conquer the obstacles of life and not allow the obstacles to conquer her. I will miss her greatly, particularly at times when life has me pressed down a bit and I need a woman like her for inspiration. Eleanor was truly an inspiration and a dear friend.
What a truly Christian woman my dear friend and neighbor was! I was honored to have many "coffees and conversations" with her, ending with fervent prayers for so many including my grandson, Tommy, who I credit her for him getting through school and doing well! Her unselfishness, patience, humor are such a wonderful example to all of us, she will be so missed by me, by her loving husband Bill, her kids, grandkids! She knew where she was going, she loved her Savior so much. "I was hungry, you gave Me to eat...", she'd have no worry of judgement 😇Goodbye dear friend, I hope the mansion reserved for you is next to mine! "Minnesota Kay" and Paul
Eleanor will always be my Sweetie-pie. She was my Best Friend and my loving & caring & very patient wife. During Eleanor’s time in the hospital, I would read all the caring e-mails & cards & notes and relate all the comforting phone calls. We recalled our fun times and a few struggles and all our moves around Florida. We talked about our service in The Salvation Army. She was so proud of wearing the uniform & our time as Sergeants. She fondly remembered playing her alto horn and was glad that she could confirm that it was still at the corps. Then we would read a Psalm, sing hymns and pray. We always prayed for our family & friends and our newest friends at our church. She still missed Pastor Don who had died to suddenly & was thankful for Reverend Marshall’s visits and prayers.
During her final days, she was visited by me, my sister Donna, Brother Wayne & Sister-in-law Bettye, & her son David & fiancé Linda.
One of her favorite scriptures was James 1:17 “ Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
Sweetie-pie, you’ll always be my Rolls-Royse.
Your Loving KISA
Eleanor was one of the nicest ladies I have ever known. I will miss her for now.
