Edward Randall Simpson's Obituary
Edward Randall Simpson, 65, of The Villages passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017. Mr. Simpson was born August 27, 1952 in Columbus, OH to Edward Ray and Janet Lois (Fink) Simpson. He was known by his family as Randy and Ed by his friends. Ed was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and of the Methodist faith. He retired as an IT Manager responsible for distributing the Boston Globe and NY Times. Ed moved here in 2013 from Harvard, MA. He was an avid Red Sox and Steelers fan, loved Disney, flying with his son, and watching wildlife. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Phyllis; children, Beth and Brian Hughes of Wheeling, WV and Ryan Simpson of The Villages; father, Edward R. Simpson of Elizabeth City, NC; brother, John Simpson and Dreda Symonds of Virginia Beach, VA; and two grandchildren, Alice and Everett. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm, Thursday, August 31, 2017 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with the family greeting friends from 11:30 am. Interment will follow the service in Florida National Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Moffitt Cancer Center, www.moffitt.org.
