Doyle Fooks' Obituary
Doyle R. Fooks, 87, of Oxford, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in Leesburg, FL. Mr. Fooks was born in Nettleton, AR on October 6, 1923 and moved to Oxford in 2005 from Middleburg, FL. Mr. Fooks pastored Baptist churches for over 40 years and served as a missionary to Germany for 3 years. Mr. Fooks was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Doyle served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and served as a chaplain with the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Fooks is survived by his wife, Ona Mae McKinney Fooks, daughter; Marilyn (Darrell) Tripp, DeSoto, MO, sons; Gary (Georgia) Fooks, Middleburg, FL, Ron (Wanda) Fooks, Apopka, FL, Steve Fooks, Gainesville, FL., 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 3 stepchldren, and 19 step grandchildren and 16 step great grandchildren. Visitation services for Mr. Fooks will be Saturday, January 29, 2011 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with funeral services following at 11:00 A.M.. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park, Middleburg, FL.
