Filarski, Donald's Obituary
Donald Filarski, 83, Lake Panasoffkee, Florida passed away on March 12, 2026 at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital in Inverness, Florida with his loving wife Wanda by his side. Donald was born June 16, 1942 in Pulaski, Michigan to his parents, Vincent Filarski and Mary A. (Stoinski) Filarski.
Donald had worked for General Motors for 30 years at the Buick Motors Division, where he worked as a welder and also worked in maintenance. He moved in 1999 to Lake Panasoffkee coming from Barbo, Michigan, Don was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Bushnell, Florida. He was a member of AA for 43 years. Don enjoyed attending church, fishing, hunting and camping. He also enjoyed spending time and working with seniors. Donald was a proud member of the United Auto Workers Union.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 41 years: Wanda Sue Filarski of Lake Panasoffkee, FL; two daughters: Stacy Quintanilla and her husband Felix of Clarkston, MI and Kim Ulrich of Troy, MI; a son: Anthony Kandal of Roger City, MI; a brother: Jimmy Filarski and his wife Beverly of Millington, MI; two sisters: Lorraine Kortmen and her husband Orland of Hawks, MI and Pauline Filcoiski of Long Rapids, MI: two loving grandchildren: Jenna and Isaiah and many nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, a beloved son, Donald Scott Filarski, sisters, Marie Legacy and Gloria Wirgau, brothers, Paul Filarski, Alvin Filarski and Vincent Filarski and a Son-in-law, Dave Ulrich.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 8:30AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church of Bushnell, Florida with Father Waldemar Maciag officiating.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the American Heart Association in Donald’s loving memory.
