Donald Edward Bernard's Obituary
Donald E. Bernard Born in Providence, RI (January 28th, 1935) to Marguerite (Collins) and Edgar P. Bernard of Pascoag, RI.A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he served his country from 1952 - 1955.Graduated from East Coast Aero-Tech on the GI Bill.Employed first at General Motors, then Raytheon Co. in MA.For the next 32 years, he worked for the State of RI in the maintenance department at Zamborano Memorial Hospital in Burrillville, RI until his retirement in July, 1989. Moved from Harrisville, RI to Naples, FL with his wife, Diana in July 1998. Then in Sept. 2006, moved to The Villages, FL.A member of the RI American Legion (Post #0017), the AFSCME RI Retirees (Chapter 94), and AARP.A communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church, in Wildwood, FL.Leaves his loving wife, Diana (Vincuilla), after 45 years of marriage, his brother-in-law, Robert J. Vincuilla and his wife, Dorothy, from Sunset Point, brother-in-law, Ronald J. Vincuilla of Milford, MA, nieces, nephews, and his cousin, Edward Collins of Harrisville, RI. His sister, Mary Bernard, preceded him in death in 2003, as did his brother, E. William Bernard in 1988. A memorial mass will be held 10:30 am Monday, Aug. 23rd at St. Vincent de Paul’s Catholic Church in Wildwood, FL.
