Donald "Bones" Ray Scott's Obituary
Donald “Bones” Ray Scott July 20, 1946 – September 20, 2025
Donald “Bones” Ray Scott, 79, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on July 20, 1946, he was the son of James Burl and Myrtle Ann (McDonald) Scott.
Known for his warm spirit and playful sense of humor, Bones was a beloved member of The Villages Horseshoe Club and an avid golfer. Every Saturday, he and his wife, Bunny, could be found on the greens, sharing laughs and friendly competition with their close-knit group of friends. Together, they also bowled on a team affectionately named “The Bad Bowlers,” embracing the fun more than the score.
Bones and Bunny shared a love for travel and tradition. One of their favorite annual adventures was attending The Hopson’s Pig Roast in Tennessee, a cherished gathering that brought joy and connection year after year.
He was preceded in death by his children, Cary Scott and Melissa Dawn Scott, and his brothers, Jimmy and Jerry Scott.
Bones is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Bernadette “Bunny” (Wenn) Scott — together for 60 beautiful years. He also leaves behind his loving sisters, Barbara (Jim) Church and Dee (Duncan) McBryde; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of family and friends who will miss his laughter, loyalty, and love.
There will be a gathering of family and friends 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm, Sunday, November 16, 2025, at Lake Miona Regional Recreation Center1480 Buena Vista Blvd, The Villages, FL 32162.
