Dolores Virginia Farkus' Obituary
Dolores Virginia (Arnold) Farkus died unexpectedly in Dade City, Florida on Friday, July 8, 2022 at
the age of 72.
Dolores was born at home on September 1, 1949 in Coleman, Florida. She was the 8th of 12
children, born to William Marcus and Audrey Vestel (Fowler) Arnold. She married Nicholas Farkus,
Jr., her childhood sweetheart, on December 16, 1966 in Ocala, Florida. Dolores met Nicholas when
she was 12 years old and married when she was 17, and he was 21. It was a once-in-a-lifetime
marriage for Dolores, for she never remarried after losing Nicholas to cancer on November 7, 1991.
They were married for 24 years.
Dolores is survived by her children, William (wife, Norma) and Victoria Farkus (partner, John);
granddaughters, Heather Farkus (fiancée, Michael Adams), Mahkia Farkus, and Jessica Coleman; great-grandchildren, Alizah, Ezekiel, and Iris; siblings, Bonnie Ward and Janie Maddox, both of Lake City, Florida; Emmett Arnold, of Ocala, Florida; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is also preceded in death by her father in 1994 and her mother in 2003; daughter, Linda Farkus Downing in 2010; grandchildren, Carl and Jacquelyn Downing in 1992 and 1993, respectively; brothers, Gordon in 1995, William in 2004, Jasper in 2020, Patricia in 2021, and four other siblings, who died in infancy.
Dolores worked at Lykes Pasco Packing Co. until 1999, and began her career as a CNA soon after.
She retired from Zephyr Haven Nursing Home in 2013. After retirement, she enjoyed playing her
games on Facebook, reading her Amish books, and watching her shows on the television.
There will be a visitation from 10 am to 11 am followed by a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 11 am Tuesday, July 19, 2022 Banks Page Theus Funeral Home 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL 34785.
Pastor Derrel Strickland of Oxford Assembly of God Church will be officiating Dolores's Funeral Service at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Wildwood, Florida.
