David C. Mayer's Obituary
David C. Mayer, 82, The Villages, Florida passed away on August 17, 2015 at his residence under the loving care of his family. Dave was born on May 22, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to his parents Chester L. Mayer and Vinelda (Hamm) Mayer. He had been employed as a Civil Engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for over 40 years. He and his wife Shirlee moved to The Villages in 2004 from Presque Isle, Wisconsin. Prior to retirement they lived in Menomonee Falls, WI. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He is survived by his loving wife: Shirlee Mayer of The Villages, FL; three sons: Michael D. Mayer (Susan) of Strongsville, OH, Joseph A. Mayer (Cheryl) of New Berlin, WI and Daniel L. Mayer (Merritt) of Pahoa, HI; seven grandchildren: Jake (Kristen), Sarah, Andrew, Kyle, Ryan, Edelweiss and Danny; two great-grandchildren: David and Lilly; six nieces, a nephew, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Jim and Neal. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at Savannah Center in The Villages.
