I have so many fond memories of Thanksgiving meals and summer trips to Lake of the Ozarks with Art, Lynn and family. Art was always patient with us, even though the combination of his 4 kids and the 3 kids from our family running around was a LOT. My heart goes out to you all, Lynn, Melissa, Aymee, Andy, John and family. Love, Amy (Grotelueschen) Huebschmann

We are so sorry for the loss of a wonderful father, husband, and friend, Art. It was a pleasure to both know him, and your family - and to work with him at John Deere. May your many memories bring your comfort. Out thoughts and prayers are with you. Laurie & Bill Zelnio & Family
So sorry to hear of Art’s passing. My sincere condolences to Lynn, family and friends. May he rest in peace!

Art was a good friend at John Deere. We worked together for around 25 years. He was always kind and thoughtful, and a wonderful person to work with. He was well respected for his fastener knowledge both within Deere and in our SAE off-highway industry. Art and his teams contributed tremendous expertise on both inch and metric fasteners, and I'm sure those fasteners on John Deere products represent his contribution to their design today.
He was the major contributor to the implementation of metric fasteners as we went metric within U.S. factories. It took some time for our engineers to become comfortable using metric fasteners and understanding their sizes and grades. He assisted us to "standardize" and reduce the proliferation of designs used on our products.
Engineers within Deere and outside sought his knowledge especially on the process to implement metric designs successfully and be cost effective in the transition. As the economy became more global his unique knowledge assuaged fears of the monumental changes.
