David Charles Aten (1940-2024)
David Charles Aten, 83, of Wildwood, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Friday, January 12, 2024. He was born on December 8, 1940, in Paterson, NJ, to the late Charles William and Marie Betty (Howell) Aten.
David was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country with honor and dignity. He was a true patriot and loved his nation. He was also an animal lover. He had a passion for antique cars, fishing and enjoyed gardening.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon (Roberts) Aten; sons: Sgt. 1st Class Michael C. Aten and James “Randy” Lewis.
He is survived by his sons: Dr. Butch Aten, DVM of Ocala, FL and Ronnie (Gwen) Lewis of Hazlehurst, GA; daughters: Tammy (Clinton) Smith of Wildwood, FL and Kimber Aten Townsend of Wildwood, FL; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and many other loving family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Cremation has taken place with Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home 410 Webster St. Wildwood, FL 34785.
There will be a Celebration of Life / Antique Car Show / Gathering from 11 am to 2 pm Saturday, February 17, 2024, with Navy Honors at 2:00 pm at Oxford Memorial Center / Pine Level Cemetery 3779 C.R. 203 Oxford, FL 34484.
