Daniel Blair Gaskins' Obituary
Daniel Blair Gaskins, age 76, of San Antonio, Florida passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, the Lord’s Day, October 24th, 2021. He was born February 2nd, 1945 in Bethel, Ohio.
He was a kind and loving husband of Patricia Gaskins for 51 years, 11 months, 9 days. Their marriage was a storybook marriage filled with kindness, love, perseverance, compassion, and the grace of God. He served in the United States Air Force from August of 1965 to January of 1969. This included serving a tour in Vietnam from December of 1968 through January of 1969. He concluded his service as an E5, with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a member of San Antonio Community Church. He worked in manufacturing at Armco Steel, General Electric, Peterbilt, and retired from Ford (Visteon) in 2009. He lived his life according to the two greatest commandments: Loving God with all his heart, mind, body, and soul, and by loving others as himself.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Blair and Glenna Gaskins, and his son Bryan Daniel Gaskins.
Survivors include: His loving wife of 51 years, 11 months, 9 days: Patricia Gaskins. His son Matthew Gaskins, and his wife Amy, and their children: Abraham, Raynah Strader, and her husband Dallas, and Daniel’s great grandson Axl. His Grandsons: Joshua Gaskins and Jacob Gaskins. His Sister: Tammy Paulsen and her husband Glenn Paulsen. His niece: Danielle Schmidt, and her Husband Soren, and their son Sven. His nephew: Brandon Paulsen, and his wife Alina, and their children: Harper and Hayes. His cousins: Charles Merrilees and his wife Peggy, Judy Schulte, and Phyllis Welsh and her husband John. Along with a host of others.
The family will have a private graveside service on Saturday, October 30th. There will a celebration of life on Saturday, October 30th at 3:00 p.m. at San Antonio Community Church. All people are welcome to attend.
To those in attendance the family kindly requests you to come in casual clothing.
The family has also requested that all people wear a mask to protect one another while in the church. Masks will be available to all who come if they do not have their own.
