I am sending my condolences to the family. I am Virginia Slaughter Elliott, sister to Frank Slaughter & Ann Slaughter Andrews (our Father was S. F. Slaughter & mother, Irene). Sam Slaughter III is my nephew. I grew up on on County road #216, just across from some of the Bailey's land and what was then called Bailey's butcher pen building. As a child they had cows on that pasture, but in later years it was planted it in pines. In my younger years, I remember a hurricane came through Oxford, and we got so much rain, that a lake formed in that pasture land down near the road of #216, It stayed for several months. I got a whipping for climbing the fence to get near to the lake. I remember Patricia and Mann but I was very young. They were nearer my sister and brother's age. I also remember Mr. Clyde. My deepest sympathy to you all in this great loss. May God comfort your hearts.
