Clark Ellis Caruthers' Obituary
Clark Ellis Caruthers, 81, of Oxford passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Mr. Caruthers was born April 25, 1936 in Oxford to Roy H. and Edna Mae (Baker) Caruthers. Clark served about 6 years in the National Guard and retired as a Carman from CSX after 43 years of service. He was an active member of the Leesburg Missionary Baptist Church and was very proud to donate to save lives as a 20+ Gallon Blood Donor. Clark enjoyed traveling, farming, running his cows and being with his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Lois; children Christopher Ellis & Lisa Caruthers of Oxford, Shelly & Reggie Crenshaw of Buffalo Valley, TN and Julie Avera of Oxford; siblings, Betty & George Shealy of Oxford and Timmy Caruthers of Oxford; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. Clark was preceded in death by his son, Daniel F. Caruthers. Visitation will be 10:00am - 12:00pm with the funeral service at 12:00pm, Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel, Wildwood. Interment will be in Nichols Cemetery, Oxford. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution in Clark’s honor may be donated to Hospice of Marion County, Brandley House, 19395 SE 109 Terrace, Summerfield, FL 34491.
