Machleit, Clarence Edward's Obituary
Clarence Edward “Ed” Machleit, 96, Lake Placid, Florida went to be with Lord on September 30, 2025 at Balmoral Assisted Living in Lake Placid, Florida. Ed was born July 27, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to his parents Clarence Machleit and Edith Machleit.
Ed and his late wife Shirley moved to Lake Placid over 30 years ago from Margate, Florida. He was of the Christian faith. He was Past Commander of the Mt. Clemens, Michigan Power Squadron while he resided in Michigan. Ed loved fishing and especially here in Florida fishing for big bass. He was an artist and loved to paint family and friends and was also a sculptor in several mediums. He enjoyed building lighthouses of various sizes. Ed was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Navy.
Ed is survived by two sons: Dennis Machleit of Lake Placid, FL and Lynn Machleit of Alpharetta, GA; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Jack and his beloved wife of 64 years, Shirley Margaret Machleit.
As per Ed’s request there will be no funeral services.
