Cecil Ellis' Obituary
Cecil Ellis, 90, of Wildwood passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016, surrounded by his family. Cecil was born May 6, 1926 in Lakeland, FL to James Orien and Lina (Thomas) Ellis. He was an U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran of WWII and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Cecil retired as a clerk with CSX Railroad. After retirement he moved to Weeki Wachee then returned to Wildwood in 2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood, American Legion, a Past Master of Wildwood Masonic Lodge #92, Scottish Rite and Morocco Shrine. Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Carolyn; children, Kenneth Craig and Mary Bliss Ellis of Coral Gables, Dale Gregory and Lynn Ellis of Wildwood; brother, Julius Boyd Ellis of Utah; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00pm, Thursday, September 8, 2016 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:00pm, Friday, September 9, 2016 in the First Baptist Church of Wildwood with interment following in Florida National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Wildwood or Cornerstone Hospice. On-line condolences may be shared by visiting www.bankspagetheus.com.
