Cecelia Joyce Curington's Obituary
Cecelia Joyce Curington, 83, of Oxford, FL, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2026. Joyce was born on February 12, 1943, in Oxford, FL, to her loving parents; Raymond and Lorraine (Kelly) Fussell.
Joyce was born and raised in Oxford, FL, but God called her to minister in many places in Florida and Kentucky throughout her life. She was dedicated to serving the Lord. Joyce was very involved with many Church’s during her life where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and participated in many holiday events.
Joyce loved children and working with the youth, she was nicknamed “Aunt Rejoice” by her great nieces and nephews for her contagious smile and her familiar greeting, “hey sweetie”.
She enjoyed spending her time reading her bible, singing, vacationing with friends and family, gardening and painting. Joyce will be missed dearly and remembered fondly for her loving, friendly and joyful nature. She never met a stranger and most importantly, she never doubted her love for God.
Joyce is survived by her daughters; Connie Austeel, Kelly (Blake) Rowe and Clinette (Jeff) Hall, sisters; Lois Caruthers and Leona Harrison, sister in laws; Mickey Curington and Bobbi Curington, as well as eight grandchildren: Erica, Andrea, Clint, Sadie, Lindsay, McKenzie, Rayna and Caylin, and eight precious great grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in passing by her parents; Raymond and Lorraine Fussell, and four brother in laws; Harold Curington, John Curington, Clark Caruthers and Wesley Harrison.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Joyce’s loving memory to the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church- Youth Program.
