Caryl Jean Parrish's Obituary
In Loving Memory of
Caryl Jean Parrish
January 17, 1935 – May 21, 2025
Caryl was a woman of elegance, independence, and warmth. She passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on January 17, 1935, Caryl lived a rich and meaningful life, marked by deep love for her family, enduring friendships, and a graceful appreciation for the finer things in life.
Caryl was preceded in death by her beloved son Scott, her brothers Lee and Donald, her mother Alma (Ernest) and Father Leroy Carpenter, and her former husband Jerry Lee Parrish (Corky). Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Janet (Parrish) and son-in-law John Hart; her cherished grandchildren Matthew Parrish, Christa Kotsiris (Rich), Patricia Hoff (Nick), and Jessica Rybandt. Her legacy continues through her Great-grandchildren: Haidyn, Kaylee, Elijah, and Richard. Her love for her family was boundless and she took immense pride in their accomplishments, both big and small.
Known for her lifelong friendships and her unwavering sense of style and poise, Caryl found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Living in Highland Lakes community for the past 25 years, she was an avid golfer, a lover of classical music, and never passed up a good movie or a fine glass of scotch. Her independence and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
To her grandchildren “Grandma Caryl” was the keeper of many cherished traditions and Unforgettable moments – afternoons spent playing Chinese checkers and Sorry!, pouring over Magic Eye books, digging Legos out of the cookie tin, or fishing golf balls out of the pond. Sunday family dinners around her table were more than meals; they were rituals of laughter, connection, and love.
Caryl’s life was a beautiful blend of grace and grit, and her memory will be lovingly carried forward by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family. Donations can be made to St, Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the one organization Caryl believed in.
