Caryl Diane McMillan's Obituary
Caryl Diane McMillan, 75, Oxford, Florida went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 4, 2025 at Cornerstone Hospice House - Casa Bella in The Villages, Florida. Caryl was born on September 27, 1950 in Miami, Florida to her parents William D. McMillan and June (Murphy) McMillan.
From the time her parents returned to Sumter County when she was a small child, she continuously lived on the family property in Oxford. Caryl was very proud of her Oxford heritage.
Caryl attended public school in Sumter County and was a 1968 graduate of Wildwood High. She also attended classes at Central Florida Community College in Ocala. She worked in the title insurance industry but spent most of her career working as a bookkeeper. Caryl was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Oxford where she attended and was a Sunday School teacher in the 1970s.
Caryl unfortunately had to deal with health issues later in life and said she was most thankful being part of what she called the "Old Oxford". She described "Old Oxford" as being the community of friends and neighbors that called her, visited her and helped her when needed. Caryl also happily tried to be the neighbor and friend that helped and assisted her neighbors whenever she could. Caryl was preceded in death by three wonderful ladies that were her longtime friends, Sylvia, Sue and Diane. Each and every friend was a very important person to her. We want to express our thanks and gratitude to all those that cared for her and cared about her.
Caryl's immediate family consists of her sister, Gayle Holloway and her nephew Jarrod Holloway. Caryl was preceded in death by her father, William D. "PUNJAB" McMillan and her mother, June Murphy McMillan.
Caryl departed this life all too soon, but now she is with her heavenly Father with no more suffering,
