Carolyn Lee Kiehl's Obituary
Carolyn Lee Kiehl, 74, of Wildwood, FL went home to be with the Heavenly Father and to dance with the angels on June 11, 2015. Carolyn, the daughter of Clyde W. and Virginia C. Kiehl was born on July 7, 1940 and lived most of her life in Central FL. She grew up in the College Park area of Orlando and attended Princeton Elem., Memorial Jr. High and graduated from Edgewater High School in 1958. She attended Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing graduating in 1961. She also graduated from St. Leo College Magna Cum Laude in 1980 with a B.A. in Psychology.
Most of Carols nursing career was in the Orlando area at Orange Memorial, Holiday and Lucerne General Hospitals. Carol’s most rewarding work was the 20 years she worked as an Emergency Room Nurse. After moving to Wildwood she did home health until her retirement in 2006.
Carol is a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood and participated in several Mission trips, baking for Wednesday Night Suppers, Prayer Room Ministry, Choir and helping out as she could to serve the Lord.
She enjoyed NASCAR (#24), Participating in and Promoting Craft Shows and RVing having taken several trips including, a most memorable one to Alaska.
Carol was predeceased by her parents, brother David Kiehl and sister Nancy Park. She is survived by brother Charles Kiehl, Wildwood, niece Lorraine K. Williamson of Wildwood, nephews Larry & Zachary (Susan) Park and great nieces & nephews Ginny, Beth, Josh & Brandon Williamson of Wildwood. She also leaves behind special friends Linda Dunn, Bonnie Cohen, Sylvia Herndon along with others and her loving church family.
Carol was an animal lover and had rescued many dogs and cats during her lifetime – one being her Special Orange Cat – “Caleb Bailey”.
Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Wildwood on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11:00AM with Pastor Craig Attaway officiating with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A Graveside Service will follow the Funeral at 2:30PM on Tuesday, June 16th at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando.
If desired, In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Wildwood – Transportation Fund or Sumter County Humane Society.
