Carol Mary Szeremeta's Obituary
Carol Mary Szeremeta, 77, of the Villages passed away May 21, 2020 at Harbor Chase on day prior to her 78th birthday. Carol was born on May 22, 1942 in New Rochelle, New York to William Shaffer and Eleanor Bernadette (Carroll) Woodward. Carol married Walter Szeremeta in 1964 while he was still in the Navy and he survives.
Carol moved to The Villages in 2005 from Bardstown, Kentucky. Carol was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. Carol went to Immaculate Junior College in Washington, D.C. and graduated with her Associates Degree, she then went to Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City. She became a stay at home mom until her sons were in High School and then went back to teaching Kindergarten. Carol loved to do many crafts such as ceramics, painting and making decorated wine bottle lamps.
Carol is survived by her husband of 56 years; Walter, sons; Bill and Lani of North Carolina, Jim of Ohio, Brian and Angela of Massachusetts, brother Bill Woodward of Long Island, New York and sister Wanda and Latilo Gallo of Glencove, New York.
A Memorial Mass at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church with inurnment at Florida National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
