Carl E Wilson Jr's Obituary
Carl E Wilson Jr. passed away Wednesday September 8th, 2015 at the age of 69 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born May 25, 1946 in Louisville Kentucky. Carl married his high school sweet heart and love of his life Joanne (Dawson) Wilson on October 2nd, 1965 . They were married for 49 loving years with less than one month away from celebrating 50 years of marriage at the time of his passing.
Carl graduated from Toms River High School in 1964 where he was actively involved in school sports playing football where he was a team captain. He served our country in the Unites States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He also was a member of the Air National Guard serving a total of 23 years in the United States Military. Carl was a true Patriot who loved his country. He would spend his professional career working for the Oyster Creek Power Plant as a Nuclear Inspector where he would retire in 2006. He was an avid Civil War Reenactor and loved history. He was a loving man who lived his life by the word of God.
Family was the most important aspect of Carl’s life. He is survived by his wife Joanne Wilson, his daughters Dayna Wilson and Danell Steinhauer, his three grandchildren Matthew Cook and Bradley and Bailey Steinhauer, his sisters Mary Cahill and Beth Severo, his brother David Wilson, and an endless number of amazing friends.
To all who knew Carl know that there are not enough words to describe the amazing man he was and the honorable life in which he lived. All that need be said: Carl was a husband, a father, grandfather, brother and friend to so many. He made a positive impact on the lives of everyone who had the pleasure and honor to have known him. He will be missed by many but will never truly leave us. He will forever be in our memories and our hearts. Rest easy Carl and enjoy the house you have earned in Heaven.
Services will be held on Thursday September 17th, 2015 at 9:30am at the Florida National Cemetery located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513. Proceeding the services, a celebration of Carl’s life will be held at the Garden Worship Center located at 12740 County Road 484, Belleview, FL 34420 starting at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Building Fund for the Garden Worship Center; donations can be sent to the address listed above.
