C. Lee Hinkley's Obituary
C. Lee Hinkley passed away on August 23, 2012. He was born January 19, 1925 in Brookings, South Dakota to Ina and Fred Hinkley. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years – Wylma (Mohror) Hinkley. Lee and Wylma and their two children lived in East Peoria and later Morton, Illinois. After retirement they moved to Sebring, Florida. For most of his life, Lee was a carpenter and builder. He was a kind and gentle soul who was always ready and willing to help and lend a hand to whoever might be in need. Together, he and Wylma built the homes they lived in and renovated numerous small houses, which they rented. They also built and owned “Hidden Treasures” - a Christian book store in Washington, Illinois. Lee was an active member of Grace Mennonite Church in Morton and later the Highlands Community Church in Sebring. He is survived by his son J Scott & Sue (Batterbee) Hinkley, daughter Merri & Larry Roderick and his grandson, J Scott II & Jennifer (Rosa) Hinkley. There will be a small memorial service at a later time. Donations in Lee's name may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Rd. Sebring, Florida 33870.
