Deacon Byron A. Otradovec T.O.Carm
Deacon Byron Anthony Otradovec, 92 of Wildwood passed away April 20, 2025. Deacon Byron was born December 30, 1932, in Breed, WI to John P. and Alice (Giese) Otradovec.
He married the love of his life, Mary Ann (Bahl) on January 23, 1954, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Pound, WI. Deacon Byron retired from the U.S. Army in Command and Staff Operations, as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1992 after 42 years of service. He served during the Korean War, Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and AMVETS. Byron was ordained a Deacon in the Catholic Church on January 22, 1983, in Milwaukee, WI. He moved from Lena, WI in 1995 to Wildwood, FL and was assigned as a Deacon to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and the Third Order of Carmelite.
Deacon Byron is survived by his son: John Otradovec; a daughter: Marcia Szymanski and her husband Robert; sister, Karen Wiedemeier; two grandchildren: Seth Szymanski and his wife Kirsten and Brooke Szymanski; great-granddaughters: Campbell and Emma.
Deacon Byron was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Norine Otradovec and his beloved wife MaryAnn Otradovec.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 10:00AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, FL. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, from 4:00PM to 6:00PM with a prayer service beginning at 5:30 pm at Banks, Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, Wildwood, FL and also on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the church from 9:00AM till the time of the Mass. Burial to follow with Military Honors at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, FL.
