Bryant M. Leggett's Obituary
Bryant M. Leggett, 67, of Floral City, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on April 7, 2026. He was born in Clearwater, Florida, on December 28, 1958, to Bryant A. Leggett Jr. and Judy Ann (Clark) Leggett.
Bryant spent his childhood days between the bustling beach city of Clearwater and the tiny farm town of Bell where he felt most at home. He often spoke about fond memories of swimming in the springs, riding horses, and helping in the gardens. In Clearwater, under the care of his loving grandparents, Kathryn and Guy Clark, he attended school and participated in many activities including martial arts and sea scouts. As an adult, he loved to work. Full of energy and with a propensity for numbers, he found the construction industry fulfilling and so became a master carpenter. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and was known for his attention to detail. A true perfectionist, Bryant believed that anything worth doing was worth doing right, and he approached his work with care and creativity.
Known affectionately as “Cowboy,” Bryant was a spiritual man who believed in God and felt most himself outdoors. Under open skies, on the water, and surrounded by wildlife was where he found peace. While he appreciated both sunrise and sunset, it was the quiet of the night—beneath the moon and the stars—where he centered himself and felt most connected to God and the natural world around him. Music brought Bryant great joy; dancing and singing was his favorite pastime. Other enjoyments included target shooting, reading a great mystery novel, and time behind the wheel of his beloved truck. He also enjoyed writing poetry, a quiet passion that reflected his thoughtful and expressive nature. Truly a unique character, he was always seen wearing his cowboy hat and bandana, reflecting a spirit that was part old-soul cowboy and part free-spirited wanderer. Above all else, Bryant loved people. He would do anything for anyone and offered his help freely. Kind, smart, clever, and genuinely friendly, he connected easily with others and left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Bryant is survived by his daughter, Amanda Leggett Fort and her husband Wesley; his sons, Nathan Leggett and Bryant A. Leggett III; his fiancée, Dee Waldrop; his brothers, Guy Leggett and Phil Leggett; his grandchildren, Hannah (Fort) Lopez and her husband John, Kaitlyn Fort, Alexis Leggett, Hailey Leggett, and Grayson Leggett; and his great-grandson, Iverson Lopez.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marie Anna Leggett.
