Bessie Maude Pate's Obituary
Bessie Maude Pate, 96, of Wildwood, went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 9, 2010. Mrs. Pate was born in Springfield, Ga. and moved to Wildwood from there in 1938, as a bride. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood where, at 96, she was the oldest active member. She was a past member of the Wildwood Woman’s Club. Mrs. Pate loved the Lord, loved people, especially babies and children, and her dolls. Survivors include her children, Edna Sue (Charles) Roesel of Bushnell, Ruth Ann (Charles) Suber of Wildwood and James C. (Debbie) Pate of Eustis; sister, Emma Lee Shearouse of Guyton, Ga., 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel B. Pate, Sr. and 4 children Samuel B. Pate, Jr., Paul A. Pate and 2 infants. Funeral services for Mrs. Pate will be held, 3:00 PM, Tuesday, April 13, 2010, in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Wildwood. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Wildwood.
