Berniece Swanson Thomas' Obituary
Berniece S. Swanson, 95, of Wildwood, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Mrs. Swanson was born July 30, 1924 in Palm, FL to Oliver and Mabel (Frisby) Singleton. Preceded in death, Her husband Edward Carlisle Swanson, and daughter Cheryl Lynne. Her surviving children, Robert and Sherry Swanson of Zanesville, Ohio, Barbara and Alex Macdonell, Clermont, Deborah Lochrie.
10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. A Prodigy child raised in Ludlow, Kentucky. Attended Midway Prep school for girls, Graduated in 1942. Accomplished pianist, vocalist and soloist, attended The Julliard School. Joined the USO in Washington DC, and toured with Duke Ellington, Ft. Dix, NJ to Miami. An Advocate for the Light House School for the blind in Tampa, and The March of Dimes. A member of the First Baptist Church under the guidance of Brother Claude McAdams, where she taught Sunday school, WMU president, choir member, piano and organist, and many other activities. And floral designer. A great prayer warrior. Her purpose in life was to live to tell others about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Visitation will be 5:30 – 6:30pm with the service beginning at 6:30pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2019, in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel.
