Bernard A. Miller's Obituary
Bernard A. Miller, 87, of Wildwood, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. He moved to Wildwood in 1997 from Houston, TX. He honorably served his country in the 124th Horse Cavalry during WW II in the U.S. Army. During his tour of duty, he was awarded 4 Bronze Star Medals. In 1975, he retired as owner and operator of Dusty Miller’s Farms in Westlake, OH, after thirty years. Sir Miller was a sixty year member of the Knights of Columbus and was a charter member of council 13300. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan C. (Johnson) Miller of 59 yrs. He is survived by nine children: Thomas (Nancy) of Springboro, OH; Patricia Cramer of Largo, FL; Jean of Glendale, AZ; Mary Shellenberger of Wildwood, FL; Daniel (Rose Mary) of Grapevine, TX; James of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Robert (Shelly) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and David (Penny) of Lewisburg, TN; Barbara (Jay) Barrientes of Wildwood, FL; brothers and sisters: Grace Karr of Tampa, FL; James of Tavares, FL; Mary (Bill) Lishing of Ravenna, OH; Joan Pepke of Parma, OH; and Gilbert of Columbia Station, OH. Friends may call on family from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home in Wildwood, FL, with a Wake service starting at 6:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church of Wildwood, FL. Burial follows Mass at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
