Bennie Thurmond's Obituary
Bennie Thurmond passed away peacefully in his home on August 19, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita. They were married for 32 years. Bennie was born on November 19, 1939 to William and Emma Rae Thurmond in Lincolnton GA. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. He and his wife moved to Florida, roughly 15 years ago to be closer to their children. Bennie is survived by two stepson's Benjamin Bridges (Joy) of Wildwood, FL and William Bridges of Coleman, FL. Two sister's Betty Dunson of Tignall GA and Emma Anderson Funderbork of Appling GA. One brother, William Thurmond Jr. of Tignall GA. Three grandchildren Brittany Bridges, Michael Bridges and Camryn Singleton. One great-grandchild, Ryder Wade. Four nephews, Paul Anderson, Eddie Holton, Jesse Rae Dunson and John William Dunson.
