Barbara Jo Sebekow's Obituary
Barbara Jo Hatcher Sebekow, 66, of Wildwood, Florida, entered into her eternal rest on October 30, 2020, at home in Wildwood, FL.
Barbara was born in Leesburg, FL on November 29, 1953, to Josephine Oliver Hatcher and Robert G. Hatcher, Sr. She was a graduate of Wildwood High School, class of 1971 and retired from Thomas Langley Medical Center in Sumterville, FL as a pharmacy technician after many years of dedicated service. Barbara was a Christian and attended Oxford Assembly of God. Her favorite pastimes included going to the beach with her family and spending time with her grandsons, nieces, and nephews, all the while drinking some of “Aunt Barb’s” famous sweet tea. She was known as Sumter County’s biggest Florida Gator fan and attended many Gator games at the Swamp in Gainesville, Florida. Every Saturday, her friends and family would wait for her many Gator gameday posts.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Robert G. Hatcher, Sr., her husband, Robert “Bobby” Sebekow, her infant son, Deric Sebekow, and her brother, Robert “Gerald” Hatcher.
She is survived by her mother, Josephine Hatcher, her son, Robert “Eric” Sebekow, her grandsons, Deric Sebekow and Bryan Sebekow, her sisters, Patti (Roy) Peavy, Linda (Gordon) Tillman, Angela (Virgil) Cole, her brother, Louis (Ovaline) Hatcher, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Oxford Assembly of God in Oxford, Florida, at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 4, with visitation being held from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford, Florida. The family is being assisted in final arrangements by Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home in Wildwood, Florida.
