Barbara Deloris Fort's Obituary
Barbara Deloris Fort, age 87, of Wildwood, passed away on August 17, 2018, in The Villages, Florida. Barbara was born on January 28, 1931, to Archie and Myrtle (Spooner) Merritt in Linden, Florida.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, George A. Fort.
Barbara loved the outdoors, she enjoyed yard work, fishing, and going to thrift stores. Barbara volunteered at a local thrift store with her friends. Barbara was an excellent cook, she loved and enjoyed her family.
Barbara is survived by son Craig Fort of Wildwood, son Byron Fort of Wildwood and daughter Vicki Fort Vernon of Wildwood and her brother Bruce Merritt of Bushnell. Barbara and George had eight grandchildren, Jason Fort, Hunter Fort, Ashley Fort, Erika Waston, Eric Fort, Jennifer Manly, Meagan Blackman, and Shelby Stanley, along with 14 Great-Grandchildren and a host of extended relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home in Wildwood on Saturday, August 25th from 10-11 AM with Funeral Service at 11:0 AM with burial following at Oak Grove Cemetery in Wildwood.
Family and Friends will be received at her daughter’s home following the interment at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice in memory of Barbara.
