Barbara B Gerard's Obituary
Barbara B. Gerard, 79, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, October 5, 2012. Ms. Gerard was born July 25, 1933 in West Palm Beach to the late A.B. and Olive (Carpenter) Belcher. She grew up in West Palm Beach and after High School worked as the Commanders secretary in the shipyard in Virginia, as an adult moved to several cities in Florida including Miami, Longwood and Ocala before settling in 1975 in Jacksonville. She was a homemaker and a Greyhound Kennel owner. She was of the Catholic Faith and supported many Catholic and other charities. Survivors include her sons, Gary of Jacksonville and Glen of New Mexico; brother, Charles (Carolyn) Belcher of Dunnellon and sister, Frances (Buford) Seals of Morriston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 8:30am Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in the St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, Wildwood with interment following in the Pine Level Cemetery, Oxford. For those wishing memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society to fight Breast and other Cancers, www.cancer.org.
