Barbara Ann Butler Alsobrook Detamore-Hord's Obituary
Barbara Ann Butler Alsobrook Detamore-Hord, age 61, passed away on October 30, 2015. She was born in England and lived in Coleman, Florida. She was known and loved by many. She had a heart of gold and would be there to help any of her family or friends at a moment’s notice. She grew up in Bushnell and lived in Coleman all of her adult life. She was a member of the Sumter 44 Lions Club. She accomplished many things in life, she went back to school and received her GED, later becoming a CNA; she loved riding her motorcycle and being with her cycle family; she shared her mother’s love of playing bingo at various local bingo halls; she was the first female volunteer firefighter of the Coleman Fire Department; for many years she worked with her mother at the United 500 gas station in Coleman, she was always there to give a helping hand and help take care of others, she last worked as a driver for Sumter County Transit. She loved people and was always on the go until recently when she started having health issues. She will forever be in our hearts and live on in our memories.
She is survived by her husband, Pat Hord, Coleman; daughter, Laura Ann (Jeff) Stephens, Leesburg, FL; granddaughter, Rayne Moura, Leesburg, FL; siblings, James (Terri) Berry, Roger (Debbie) Berry, Maxine (Skip) Kibbe, Linda Bacon, Deloris (Al) Bartolo, Dennis (Cherise) Berry, Kathy Lumley; many nieces and nephews; aunt, Wilma (Roy) Lewis; step-children, Pat Jr. (Sandy) Hord, Carrie (John) McClung; step-grandchildren, Timothy and Rebekah Hord all of NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julian Butler and Laura Lee (Grady) Berry and brother, William “Bill” Butler.
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Banks/Page-Theus Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Banks/Page-Theus Chapel.
