Arthur Earl "Cut" Barco's Obituary
Arthur Earl “Cut” Barco, a lifelong resident of Oxford, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, at the age of 71. Born in Eustis on October 13, 1953, to Colon Sr. and Alma Barco (née Stuart), Cut was raised with strong roots in family, faith, and the land he cherished.
A proud graduate of Wildwood High School, Class of 1971, Cut spent his life living the values of hard work, humility, and dedication. He was a lifelong cattle farmer and spent his career behind the wheel as a semi-truck driver, logging countless miles while remaining closely tied to his family and farm. Whether he was tending to his cows, on a tractor mowing, fixing fences, growing a bountiful vegetable garden, or making his famous chicken pilau for the next big meal, Cut’s hands were always busy and his heart always at home.
Cut was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in the woods. But above all else, Cut was a devoted father. His steadfast commitment to raising his daughter, Kaycee, was the pride of his life. He hauled her all over the Southeast to show dairy cattle, standing ringside with quiet encouragement and fierce pride. That bond remained unshakable through the years, built on loyalty, love, and shared memories in barn aisles and back roads. In recent years, he found great joy showing his grandsons how to love the land, and the ways of a life in the “old” Oxford.
Cut was preceded in death by his parents, Colon Sr. and Alma Barco, and his sister-in-law, Remy Barco. He is survived by his daughter, Kaycee Reider (née Barco), son-in-law Matthew, and grandsons Mavrick, Emmett, and Colson, all of Oxford; his brother, Colon Barco Jr., also of Oxford; and his stepdaughter, Candace Yeager (née Munz), her husband William, and their sons, Theodore and Cohen, of Tallahassee.
Cut will be remembered for his grit, his heart, his deep love for his family, and the legacy of hard work, tradition, and quiet strength he leaves behind.
