Anne Skutt's Obituary
Anne M. Skutt, 91, of Oxford passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Mrs. Skutt was born December 20, 1924 in Grenoble, France to Henri and Jeanne (Delamarche) Verrier. During WWII she was an English Interpreter for her French Government where she met her future husband, Bob, an American soldier. Anne was a retired French teacher and writer. She has written numerous stories and articles published by a variety of newspapers in both Canada and Florida. She is best known for her series of French cooking articles for both the Daily Commercial and the Daily Sun over the years. She moved to Florida in 1995 from Canada. Anne was Catholic. She loved playing word games along with learning and communicating by using her Braille Reader (She was legally blind). Survivors include her sons and their wives, Jacques and Theresa Skutt of Wildwood and Steven and Motoko Skutt of Seattle, WA; brother and his wife, Alain and Barbara Verrier of Lakeland and 6 grandchildren. A wake service for Anne will be held 3:00pm, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice, www.cshospice.org.
