Anne Colette Mood's Obituary
Anne Colette Mood died on June 24, 2025, at the age of 96. Anne was born Jean Colette Snyder in Washington, DC on August 16, 1928, and was raised by her grandparents as Anne Colette Searles. She married Joseph Smetana of Shenandoah, PA in 1949 and moved to MD. She had four children and was widowed in 1976 after 26 years of marriage. She sang in the choir at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bowie, MD for 20 years and was a square dancer for 40 years.
In 1987, she married Grover E. Mood and moved to Sebring, FL. She was widowed again in 2015 after 28 years of marriage. She lost her oldest daughter, Annette Smetana Zalewski of Peoria, AZ also in 2015, the same week as her husband.
She is survived by son Joseph & Angel Smetana of Rockwall, TX; daughter Julia & Bart Hedges of Stuart, FL; daughter Marguerite & Brian Abercrombie of Sebastian, FL; and son-in-law Stan & Cindy Zalewski of Sun City West, AZ. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She loved them all.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Catherine's Catholic Church 820 Hickory St, Sebring, FL 33870 on July 26, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., by Rev. Jose Gonzalez followed by burial at Lakeview Memorial Gardens 854 Memorial Dr, Avon Park, FL 33825.
