Amy and I worked together in Paynesville, Minnesota, at the newspaper around 1980. She covered sports and schools, I covered town government, and we split everything else. Being strangers in town, we became good friends, spending some fun nights eating Cheetos and drinking Dr. Peppers and listening to music. We stayed in touch for years after we both moved on when she moved to Florida and Louisiana. I've been trying off and on to track her down over the years and was sad to find she had passed away. Amy was an inspiration to me. I saw her once a week, on Tuesdays, the last year of her life. We didn’t know it was going to be her last year but she carried on with humor, determination and grit!! She was suffering with MSA but she NEVER felt sorry for herself. I would ask her, “Is there anything I can get you Amy?” Her reply, with a smile, “Yes, a new body.” I miss seeing her.

Dear Bob and the Slaney and Liebmann Families,
I have so many great memories as a kid of spending time with the cousins at the cottage and all of our holiday gatherings! I really loved being with you all when I got to spend time at your Appleton home in the winter and ice skating in your back yard rink that Uncle Don worked so hard on! I loved spending time at your cottage in summer!

My sincere condolences to Bob and the entire Liebmann family. As I mentioned to Bob, I have wonderful memories of Amy and the Liebmann family. Ice skating every winter night in the back yards and hours-long Monoply games on the screened porch come to mind. Amy was a treasured friend and I will miss her.

We were so very blessed to have met Bob and Amy on our wonderful cruise to South America. They were our dining companions and we looked forward to hearing about each other's daily activities while we enjoyed our meal. Amy was a delightful lady and fun to be around. I remember going to an adult coloring class and sharing a table with Amy...such a lovely afternoon...although we didn't know each other well, we are happy to have met you both and will cherish the time we spent together. We are very saddened by her passing. Our love and condolences to Bob and the rest of her family.
