Allie Pittman's Obituary
Allie Pittman, age 80, of Biloxi, Mississippi, formerly of Wildwood, passed away
peacefully in Gainesville, Florida surrounded by her children.
Allie was born on July 19, 1938 to Jasper and Edna (Roberts) Bronson in
Wildwood, Florida. Allie married the love of her life and partner Vernon E.
Pittman on March 12, 1963 in Tavares, Florida. Vernon passed away on January
23, 1997.
Allie was a loving wife and mother. She loved to garden and kept a beautiful lawn
that was the envy of her neighbors. She was a long-term member of the TOPS
club and at one time was the secretary. She loved to crochet and spent many
hours making items for her family. She had an amazing love for animals of all
sorts. For a period of time, she learned to drive a truck and teemed with her
husband for over the road trips.
Allie is survived by her son Richard and Carol Pittman of Blacksburg, South
Carolina, daughter Sissy M.J. and Richard Story of Starke, Florida, daughter Tracey
and James Blease of Biloxi, Mississippi, sister Melba Bronson of Coleman, Florida,
grandchildren Tasha, Davey, Michelle, Sarah, Josh, Kristin, seven
great-grandchildren and a beloved pet, Buddy.
Allie is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Robert V. Pittman, sisters
and brothers Joseph Bronson, Richard (Babe) Bronson, J.W (Buddy) Bronson, Flora
M. Bronson, Lenora Ward, Marilee Triplet, and Ola Barnes, and three
grandchildren, Joseph Partridge, Jody Robinson and Richard Pitman, Jr.
There will be a visitation at Banks/Page Theus Funeral Home on Monday, April 15,
from 5-7 PM with a Funeral Service being held at Oxford Assembly of God Church
on Tuesday, April 16 th at 2:00 PM with burial at Adamsville Cemetery in Coleman
following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American
Alzheimer’s Association, The Gideon’s International, or the Humane Society.
